Alexandre Tehfi’s journey is a powerful testament to transformation, passion, and perseverance. Raised in challenging circumstances, he endured a turbulent youth, filled with rebellion and self-discovery. It was during his years in boarding school that he encountered the arts—a spark that would ultimately become a guiding light in his life.
Initially, pottery, horseback riding, and mountain biking were introduced as obligatory activities, often feeling more like burdens than pursuits. Yet, over time, and with the patient guidance of mentors, these activities began to reshape his outlook on life. A pivotal moment arrived when Alexandre took a dare to ride an Arabian horse named Zeke. What began as a challenge soon evolved into a profound love for horseback riding, deepening into a lasting bond with horses and a lifelong devotion to dressage. Alongside this passion, he developed a quiet dedication to pottery, finding in it a space for patience and creativity.
Following a Dream
After high school, financial obstacles forced Alexandre to part ways with Zorro, a horse he had rescued and trained. This loss only strengthened his resolve to pursue his dreams in the equestrian world. For eight years, he strove for financial independence, striving to earn enough not only to live but also to fund his dream of dressage. Finally, in 2024, he began formal training in dressage, marking the true beginning of his journey in competitive horseback riding.
Guided by his dreams, Alexandre established Tiwona Fine Arts Studio in Barcelona, Spain—a studio born from resilience and passion. “Tiwona,” meaning “never goodbye” in the language of Malawi, reflects Alexandre’s enduring spirit and the lasting influence of his volunteer work in Africa.
A Life Devoted to Art, Equine Excellence, and Specialty Coffee
Tiwona Fine Arts Studio quickly became a sanctuary for his creativity. Each piece of pottery and each workshop he offers reflects the dedication and perseverance he brings to his dressage career. Alexandre’s pottery embodies the essence of his life journey: a blend of beauty, resilience, and commitment to excellence. Each creation is not just a work of art, but a reflection of the devotion that propels him toward the heights of both equestrian sport and artistic expression.
In addition to his passion for the arts and dressage, Alexandre has also launched Tiwona Coffee, a specialty coffee business that mirrors his commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Like his pottery, Tiwona Coffee reflects his dedication to excellence, offering a unique and refined experience for coffee lovers. You can learn more about his coffee offerings at tiwonacoffee.com.
With 2025 approaching, Alexandre’s dream continues as he nurtures his young horse, Artista, aiming to reach their fullest potential together. Pottery has provided the financial stability he needs to pursue this vision, allowing him to continue his dressage training, now sustained by additional ventures like specialty coffee and an online pottery channel. The dream is clear: to ride multiple times a day, to train Artista with dedication, and hopefully to refine his skills under the guidance of Europe’s top dressage masters.
Now 26, Alexandre remains open to new opportunities to advance his dressage career, seeking mentorship and training that will elevate him to the next level.
